Advaita Vedanta

Advaita Vedanta was founded by Shankaracharya, one of the most important philosophers in India, and possibly in the world, who is said to have lived during the 8th century AD.

Advaita (non-dualistic) Vedanta expounds that our real self (Atman in Sanskrit) and the Universal, Transcendental Self (Brahman in Sanskrit) is one and the same. There can be no more simplistic philosophical model of the world than this absolute "monism".
