Communication Psychology

Communication Psychology is a term used by Alan Watts to describe the psychology of the Palo Alto Group, which consisted of the researchers engaged in study of schizophrenia, etc. at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California, under the clinical guidance of Don Jackson and the theoretical guidance of Gregory Bateson. Watts was a friend of Jay Haley, Bateson, etc.

In the Guhenian system, this term is used to include not only Batesonian Epistemology and the psychology of the Palo Alto Group, but also the methodology of NLP , which is in a sister/brother relationship with the latter. In the system, Communication Psychology is also called Communication Science.
